White winters, splendid summers |
|

Dear Swiss & Europe Subscriber,
This month we feature some ideas on how to spend a White Christmas in Europe. It's a wonderful time of year to visit if you enjoy rugging up - book early if you are after something specific! If water sports are more your thing then Malta is a great option for a blend of history and relaxation. And if you are after simply stunning scenery, visit the Plitivice Lakes in Croatia. Whatever your whim and where ever you would like to go, we have probably been there so just ask.

GOZO ISLAND, MALTA
Situated south of Sicily's boot and east of Tunisia, the Maltese island of Gozo has a climate similar to its African neighbours with mild winters and hot summers. It has been inhabited since 5000BC and archeological remains of its rich heritage can be found around every corner. Ruled over the millenia by the Phonecians, Greeks, Romans, French and British to name but a few, you'll find this melange of Mediterranean conquerors have left a delightfully peaceful and friendly holiday destination with turquoise seas and world class hotels. |

PALAIS HET LOO, NETHERLANDS
This magnificently restored Baroque palace near Apeldorm was built in the 17th Century for King William and Queen Mary of England. A stroll through the various rooms gives a fascinating insight into their life, complete with a confronting array of stuffed hunting trophies. The feature of the palace is 'The Great Garden' hidden at the back through an underground entrance. For green thumbs there are daily tours of the gardens which were recently featured on TV as one of the best gardens in Europe.
